Ritchie Zacker We had an unusual break in the weather over here for the winter time. Flat calm seas and warm conditions but the water is a chilly 58 degress. I took advantage of this break and really tore them up. The picture attached is of what I shot for the day. Grouper, sheepshead and a few hogfish. The two grouper that I'm holding up are 17 and 18 pounds, all shot in 17 to 27 feet of water with the 110 C/F Stealth. I just can't say enough about how accurate that gun is. Everything was either a kill shot or hit in the head and so light in the water its scary. |
Ritchie Zacker This past week we have had some of the best weather this year and I took advantage of it and took out the 130 to put it to the test back to back days. The first day I had to get the hang of it but towards the end of the day I had it dialed in. Shot some nice fish but nothing to write home about. Well the second day turned out to be a great day. Shot lots of nice fish but I got two really big gag grouper for inshore and this time of year. These fish are two really nice one's anytime of the year. The water has been top to bottom viz and the fish rather spooky. I really got to put the gun to the test and was not dissapointed at all (and have yet to be). Drilled these to big gag's at long shots and right at where I aimed. Right in the back of the head. I hope you can use this picture and should have alot more coming soon. Ritchie

Ritchie Zacker Well we were able to have our Florida State freediving tournament this past weekend. The conditions couldn't have been better, flat seas and top to bottom viz. We were working depths from 25 to 60 feet. I was able to close out my limit of 20 fish for my limit for the tournament and my stringer of fish consisted of 5 grouper, 5 snapper, 5 hogfish, 4 sheepshead and 1 triggerfish. I finished with a score of 97.8 points and a 4th place individual placing. If I could have found the one fish that I really needed (amberjack or cobia) I would've had a solid 2nd palce finishing, but just couldn't find one. Hey I still kicked butt with a stringer of reef fish and beat out guys that had an amberjack or cobia. I still can't say enough about that 110cm Stealth gun. It just plain ROCKS!!! I think that I had a kill shot rate of about 80%. |

Ritchie Zacker Ritchie bagged this NEW IUSA World RECORD Grouper in deep water off Key West - read all about it under the DIVE REPORTS section. Congratulations Ritchie!! |
Ritchie Zacker Once again this year I've had a another awesome win. This time it came at the St.Pete Open which is the worlds largest spearfishing tournament which had 310 shooters in it this year.
I broke a 34 year old tournament record for sheepshead. The previous record was 9.13 lbs and I shot a 11.64 lb sheepshead which shattered the old record. A 2.51 lb jump. Thats huge for sheepshead.
I shot and stoned it with my 110 and was pretty pumped.
